Monday was a long day of errands. at one point we were at the car dealers for almost two hours. ugh...thank goodness for free popcorn and water. that kept us busy. he he. well, brayland - out of the blue- said poop, mom, poop. What? you have poop in your diaper...Yes, he said. (he says "yes" to everything. not "yea" anymore - yes). So the three of us tromped off to the bathroom to change it. get him up on the changing table and nothing is there! Brayland, there is no poop, does it still want to come out? "Yes" okay, so we sit him on the potty (i am so glad we were the only ones in the restroom...we were pretty funny if you over heard us). Is the poop coming? yea, poop comen'. and then we all heard it! --you imagine the sound; i'm not going to try-- we were so excited! Brayland went poop for the first time and in a public bathroom no less! he so deserved a treat...he wanted (with the help of his sister) a bag of skittles for the candy machine. oh, he is such a big boy! and he will correct you if you mistakenly say little. and brilee was so cute too...mom, can i have a treat too if i go to the bathroom? i had to remind her that this is brayland's time to learn the potty secrets. and remind her as well of all the fun bribes that she had; date with mom to the zoo, a dora backpack, and tons of M&M's.
so we are all beat after all the driving and getting in and out of the car. when we walked in the house and it smelled SOOOOO good! i had a chicken in the crock pot with red potatoes and fresh green beans with rosemary and lemon...oh my goodness...you'd think i was gourmet or something. Needless to say we had a great dinner...i was tempted to set out candle light. brian was doing pj's and stories and was pulling the rest of the meat off the carcase preparing it to simmer for a couple of hours before bed to add to the broth it had made for the day. i was getting so excited for the soup that it was going to make with the lemon and rosemary. i needed to bring everything to a boil and all the good chicken juices were in the crock pot stoneware already. I thought I would just add water and the carcase to the stoneware and put it on the stove. i ran my idea past brian just in case my thinking would create a catastrophe. so i put it on high and it started to bubble and i went about cleaning up the kitchen. then all of a sudden POP! oh my it was loud. i scream for brian and he ran in. the stone was leaking so i tried to move it off the stove top...bad idea. it split in two. i held the top half and the bottom stuck to the stove. hot boiling juice went EVERYWHERE! brand new stove by the way. and now there was chicken grease down the sides, underneath, all over the floor and the stove top, because it is a flat surface, had a little lip around it pooling most of it. i was so sad that all that good wholesome chicken liquid was gone. oh it was going to be so good. well...it gets better. we clean and soak up as fast as we can. once all the crazy liquid is gone we start cleaning. i'm wiping the oven door and the streaks are not even budging. i open the door and find more chicken juice but can't touch the streaks. the juice had found a way to the middle of the oven door. brand new oven and brian has to take the door apart. what a crazy project. so get it all clean and i go to pick up the glass portion and...i don't drop it-that would be awful. but the top plastic vent holes piece where the handle goes slips off. good thing, that was covered in grease too. so i clean it, brian maneuvers it back on and we continue cleaning the glass...grease is disgustingly stubborn. well, brian this time makes it slip and he was trying to put it back on and it crack on the side! Mom, remember that glue we bought to put brilee's pink and green table together? that is the glue i used to fix the plastic piece that chipped off. he he, it is working so far. anyway, funny story. bri got the oven back together and it works great. but now i need a new crock pot. that one was from our wedding; i think nanny (bri's grandma) bought it for us.
