Baby Showers, Cha Cing!

So I finally have a work space of my very own. i can honestly say being crafty makes me happy. when i do it out of love and making others feel great it is enjoyable for me. start making it into a business (the hanson way of thinking) and it turns the whole thing to misery. pressure doesn't work with happiness. i'm very excited to get myself organized to start scrape booking the old fashion way again. i'd love to learn digital but i don't have the patience yet to learn.
that's really not my point here. (just part of me to add background information to my thoughts) Kellan and I are hosting a baby shower for our sister in law, Katie. since Kellan is busy at work i'm enjoying making our ideas happen. and i'm also thankful she is helping out because it is a little pricey to host a baby shower by yourself. anyway, i had this fun ribbon that i felt i just had to use. so i made pointless food tags. but they do create a nice look for the table. and i created a center piece. now i need to add a side story. I help host a baby shower for an other friend about two years ago and i totally came up with the diaper cake myself without ever seeing the idea before. this is what i created:

I thought it was a genius idea! so i was totally going to recreate "my" diaper cake for this one only to find out she was already given a diaper cake. one of the gifty cakes. mine is simply for visual effects. so she can't have another diaper cake. why? because i said so. so i went online to find something different for a center piece and there was nothing but CAKES! so then i came up with this idea!

I originally was going for an open circle in the middle of a square created by the rolled diapers. didn't know what to use to create the open/invisible circle so i used a house plant. i love these plants; you only have to water them twice a month or something freakishly infrequent. so then i did a square around it. i think it looks nice. and it also hold the pens for everyone to decorate their own onsie. that's our game by the way.

bottom line. i love being crafty and i hate spending money.

hate spending money...me too. unless it's someone elses money. or I just don't think about it, then it's really fun!

and "no one" is commenting because after days of nothing new, I didn't think to check for something new, and so I come and there's a bunch of new! so there. cute hair Brilee. Glad you both have the patience to do that. I don't usually even brush my hair.

You are too funny. I laugh through all of your posts. Only because i can see you laughing as you are writing them--or at least grinning.

Fun! You are a creative genius, Amy. Totally should have patented the diaper cake thing before they became so stinkin' popular. Good luck... I'm sure the baby shower will be grand-- you make everything look so cute.
