I love picking pumpkins from the patch. I feel there is something magical about it. A wonderful traditions. there is nothing exciting about picking one from Walmart! And the other reason was that Brian was going to be gone for eight hours on saturday. i wasn't about to stay home and mope. so we went to Huber farm; it was a bit chilly.
So funny side story: In college Brian and I for school had to start a business going through

all the steps. our product was Beanie hats with Iceberg embroider on them. Iceberg because that is were rexburg is; an inland iceberg. HA! i thought it was funny. I think it was my suggestion and the company went with it. anyway, we went door to door selling these little hats... the college boys thought they were cool but they didn't even cover their ears! oh boy, at least they bought them first! so we should have marketed to them for the younger brothers and sisters. It fits Brayland perfectly. Mimi came and bought us lots of yummy treats. our cookies were the size of our heads! and we had these way good pumpkin doughnuts.
Brilee 6 & Brayland 4 (notice Brilee's cool hat! you might have to enlarge the pic)
"Mom, I want this one!" (too bad it was $16! I'm so cheap)
There is something beautiful about the bright orange with the other landscape colors.
These are the perfect pumpkins we choose from the patch, but unfortunately not the ones i took home for us...i wasn't going to pay $32 for pumpkins! they had already picked all the smaller ones and had them on trailers in the parking lot. so i traded in for the $4 ones.
Saturday night Brilee erupts with a crazy ear infection again! ugh! she hadn't even finish her other medicine before her ears started bothering her again. We saw an ENT last Monday and he said to just call him if they get worse. Well, the ears did but it was the weekend so we had to wait. Poor thing. She has been in bed since Saturday night in tremendous pain. we were finally able to get her some more meds Monday afternoon. I'm so thankful we can still move forward with her surgery on Thursday. Oh yea, by the way, (John) because Brilee has had frequent ear infections since she was four we are getting tubes in her ears as well as an enlarged adenoid taken out this Thursday.
so here she is while i carve her pumpkin. she did start at the table with me, but couldn't stay vertical. she insisted that she wanted her pumpkin to have CTR on it. so i designed it myself. well, not 100% by myself. I used a pre done pattern for the little pumpkin on her C.)this was hilarious! Amdon wanted to hold the top so bad so i have it to him and he took a big bite out of the bottom! and another and another! it thought that was so funny; Brilee, on the other hand, was appalled that i wasn't taking it away.
Brayland and I worked on his when he and dad got home from church. He picked the headless horseman. Happy Halloween!
