So Bri just took video of us celebrating; and they're huge files - wouldn't upload - and I don't want to adjust it. So I’ll have to tell you about it. We were in the middle of dinner on Wednesday night and the kids could not contain their excitement. By the way, I made one of my favorite meals: Tomato & Basil pizza (now that I took a picture of, heehee). Brayland spent the day with his Mi-mi and wrapped a present and did a thoughtful card. His treat for being with her that day was a bag of powered doughnuts; it became the perfect cake. And dad had bit of time while on his latest trip that he brought in a few gifts himself. I thought I was covered and done with the flat iron I – I mean Brian – bought me. (He really does spoil me).
While we were singing Happy Birthday Brayland was quick to remember we need candles during this momentous song. He put two in my doughnut. After the wish he wanted to cut the cake. Yes, that’s right. My mini doughnut was divided amongst the five of us. I laughed. The kids had such a great time.
So for my real birthday, the 11th, Hanson Sports picked up the planning and fun. We squeezed in our “Hanson Sports Christmas Party” before we had the baby. Hanson Sports consists of three employees; a very intimate party. But we went to P.F. Changs for dinner and then to a choir concert through the community singing a bit of the Handel’s Messiah. Which I had no idea was a book! I thought when we sang the Hallelujah Chorus in high school that we had sung a majority of it. Yea, right. We were there for two hours! But I thoroughly enjoyed it. To sing again….anyway, Brian got a good nap in. Ha!
So while at dinner Brian pops out another gigantic present for me! Again, I totally thought I was done being showered with gifts. Well, I opened it and had no idea what it was… sad. It was a bread pan, well 3 bread pans stuck together that comes with a heavy lid. The lid prevents the bread from poofing up while baking so the bread comes out in a perfect rectangle and the slices and perfect squares. How exciting! Then I told him that I’d need a new Bosch to hold enough dough to fill the thing. I just have a compact Bosch and my dough tends to over flow sometimes. Thank goodness for Colleen who I can borrow one from. :)
Well, that’s it. I’m 29. Four kids before I’m 30! I never in my wildest-social-butterfly-dancing-flirting-dreams that I would have four kids! ( By looking at the pictures you would have no idea I'm nine months pregnant!) We had a beautiful family moment the other night. One of these evenings before we said family prayer we ended up talking to each other for 10 minutes; that 10 minutes was all I needed to see and feel that we are going to be just fine. Our growing family is united in love. My children are wonderful and of course my husband is wonderful. I look at him and feel undeserving. I’m thankful he is so different then myself. I say, still quite often, “We’re married”! I’m still awestruck by this fact. Funny.
