I'm in a Nesting Mood

New year's day Brian spent the day tearing down walls in the basement and i unpacked decoration boxes. we have this funny nook that you can only see if you are going upstairs and then these two other funny nooks in the living room that are on the top of the ceiling. i put stuff up there at christmas and the room just felt cozier; so as chirstmas came down more stuff went up. here are a few pics. it feels good to say that i did this all by myself. i have a couple more pieces to add still. i found our Hanson name that ET crochet for us; that is going to be hung in the first photo maybe just above the picture/below the light. and for the second picture i found a awesome big candle stick; it is black and the edges are painted yellow. i love it. it matches these two candle sticks i found for the mantel that are black with the edges painted red. love it! anyway, that is hopefully the yellow one is going to look good behind the family sign. i have to wait for bri to bring in a ladder. it is fun to incorporate pieces of worth...well, to me anyway. see if you can find the two b/w horses. my mom made those and i love my mom and horses. there are two baskets in two different pictures. i made those. yip, took a basket weaving class in college. in the last picture it is obviously all about marriage. and the basket represents me and that stick thing represents bri. it is a beautifully carved ore from Brazil. and all the books are marriage related and there are three calla lilies representing the triangle of marriage communication. ya know, me, bri, and Heavenly Father. i was excited about the symbolism i pulled into the nook.
so more nesting is happening; i finished decorating brilee's bedroom and brayland's is almost done. by the way, John, the Daughter sign says "Daughter, you are mine." you are mine is an overlay on daughter. he he and don't mind the crocked picture...
I found these great stickers at Target that are removable. Brilee's princess stickers are perfect because the little girl has stringy blond hair. so cute! and Brayland's room is all Balls. i just found this great lamp; i love it. my next hunt for his room is a rod with baseballs on the end. bri might have to custom make one for me.
AND if you are still with me Brilee and Brayland earned their Dora Kitchen! They were so incredible pumped to come home one afternoon and find it on the door step. we immediately went inside and put it together. they were so helpful! they have had so much fun with it. i'm glad i bought it.
Brayland's chowen' down on some home cooked eggs. this is pretty cool because the phone really rings when you take it out and one of the characters is there. the blender makes noise, the radio has three little ditties, and it came with a couple of recipe "Map" cards. so much fun.
speaking of recipe cards--i was watching a little Everyday Italian to de-stress this afternoon and Brilee was really enjoying the cooking. "Mom, this is going to be so good! Can we make that!" after each recipe (there was like four) she repeated herself...this is going to be good! she even asked me to pause it when she let the cat inside. Brayland on the other hand was waiting to watch "Ego" and boots.

Cute decor, cute family, cute blog. Was fun to hear from you. It's weird that I knew you for so little time but hear from you more than some I've known for years. You're awesome!

Nice decorating! If you gave me those items to decorate with it would not look so good.
I can see the symbolism: Amy-basketcase.
