Brayland's 3!

let me tell you about May 2, 2008. we had a great pancake birthday breakfast; brian made brayland a mickey and "B" pancake (of which i ate later for my 10:30 snack). We had a 3 year old check up with the doc that morning. brayland of course is a perfect growing boy. but he has an ear infection. he threw up last friday while i was grocery shopping and then had a low grade fluctuating fever for friday and saturday. i didn't think it was anything serious because sunday -friday it felt like it was just allergy symptoms. i had been giving him an OTC allergy medicine all week, too. well, his left ear was infected; doc gave us a prescription. when went to pick it up at wal-mart later that afternoon and i gave him his first dose there. i told him the doctor made the medicine pink for his birthday! "why?" he asked. "Because he loves you." that's our response to most why questions. he drank it up with no hesitations. we came home after the doctor and tried to blow up some balloons to decorate for his party later that evening. the balloons were small and tough. i said to brilee, "what kind of tool can we use to help us blow up these balloons?" she got so excited, ran to the garage and came back with the foot operated bike pump! it worked smoothly and everyone had a job to move the process along. brilee pumped, brayland held the balloon on and i tied them. the kids were so cute as they so kindly spoke to one another and traded jobs back and forth.

well, balloons were done and bri called craving his favorite food~Chinese! his favorite restaurant to go to is Dynasty. we pronounce it Dy-Nasty, but it is really good. he loves to see it all because he doesn't know the name of what he likes. i'm easy fried rice, sweet n sour chicken, and ragoons. i don't venture away from my chinese classics much. i went to pick him up at the office and karen, his mom, said that her, darrell, and kellan were going to Mojetos; a cuban restaurant, for lunch and we were invited to come. because of the time we pasted. but then 10 minutes later their time changed and it was feasible for us. brian was so torn to try something new; he had his heart or i mean tummy set for chinese. we turned the decision over to the birthday boy. do you want chinese brayland or to eat with mimi and bapa and kellan? of course family won. Good choice. the food was amazing!!! we ordered two different sandwiches and a little cheesy appetizer. excellante! for you locals the restaurant is across the street from McDonanlds on just up from ballard high school. anyway, after lunch brilee went with kellan and karen, the boys went back to the office and brayland and i went to buy him helium balloons and a few things at walmart like his pink sunglasses cake! Brayland loves pink! he choose the colors of his cake, the plates/napkins/cups, balloons; he loves pink! well, we get the few things on my list and head to the bakery. they called me that morning to confirm my order and said it would be ready when ever i needed to pick it up. oh, i forgot to tell you that since the doctor said brayland had an ear infection he started to complain today that his ear hurt. interesting; as he hasn't said a word all week. i think it was a bit of his ear as well as tired; i had to wake him up to go shopping. so all through the store his is moaning. well, like i was saying we get to the bakery and it is dark; no one is there; it was only 3:30. another family was there waiting as well for 20 minutes! i walked over twice to the cashier to have someone called to help us. no one came. the third time i walked over i saw karen, kellan, and brilee. they walked over to the bakery with me and i was telling them what was going on. so karen waltz through the bakery doors and started searching for pink sunglasses. she came back twice with nothing. then kellan went back with her. karen came out this time with a blue and green Thomas the Train cake. i was trying to tell her no thanks when kellan came out with the cake; she found it!

so we said our good byes and i went to pay. as i was walking away a manager finally showed up. i told him the entire story; he sincerely apologized and i asked if i could have the cake for free! sure he said. sweet deal. so we come home and brayland falls asleep again. i don't know what has totally exhausted him but he just wanted to sleep so bad. we get home; i unload in the rain while he slept and then only after i was done did i think, "duh, i could have put the car in the garage!" so i pulled it in to get brayland inside. so i start cleaning the kitchen and living room. he slept until 5:30 and then just woke and whined. he looked so miserable. i was going to continue with the party without a guest of honor~kinda sad. but my spread looked so festive and great! i couldn't let that go to waste! well, ethan came with two kids that he had been babysitting for the day; that warmed brayland up and he was happy for his party.

i was happy they had to come because it looked like we invited kids his age. he he. they kids had so much fun playing together. and i thought is was super funny that all of them except brilee just licked the frosting off their cupcakes. kinda disgusting. i'm glad brayland enjoyed his party and all the pink and attention on him.

Grandma Julee got brayland a scooter, he got more train for his track from Ethan and Katie, and kellan gave brayland a pack of orange gum and a cute outfit; the t-shirt says "daddy's little helper will work for cookies." Mi-Mi gave brayland one of those tuby thingys to crawl through. Everyone had fun with this one.

OH YEA! after everyone left around 8:30 Katie, my sis-in-law, called to say she needed a girls night! by all means i am so there. so katie, kellan, and i went to target to buy a card game. i was in the mood for some queso dip and while at target we found this game called Nacho Loco or something like that. the cards are in the shape of tortilla triangle chips. we sat at tumbleweed, drank our virgin shirley temples and strawberry daiquiris, ate queso and chips and played this easy to talk through card game. we had so much fun. i thought is was funny that we were playing with chips and eating them too. the boys of course did there usual~Wii Soccer and tank.
