My Day!

As i emerged from my morning bathroom break Brian greeted me with a Hershey bar, a card, and a rose. Ahh, how sweet. it is really hard for brian to buy real flowers because he sees it as a waste of money. they die in a couple of days. he would rather buy a plant for me to plant outside, but seeing how i'm not doing much bending and digging these days he opted for a rose. i started to take the flower out of the plastic and a couple of petals fell off. i giggled and said, i'll just leave it in there. as i was getting ready for church brayland came in and wished me a happy mother's day. i thanked him for the special card he gave me. the card was from bri and the kids with an attached book of coupons. good coupons too that i'm totally cashing in. :) brayland saw the flower, picked it up and said, we got this for you too mom. As he picked it up another petal fell off. He then tipped it upside down and shook. Every last petal was on the floor and I was laughing. It was so funny that brian brought himself to buy the flower and it lasted 20 minutes. He was giggling too.

So as I was taking the picture of the flower for this post I thought “that is weird lighting” so I turned off the flash and took another. Ohhh, the shutter wasn’t completely open. But I thought the half closed shutter gave the flower a nice romantic aroma.

And at church there were many great quotes shared about motherhood; two of which are now going on my bathroom mirror. I’m going to start a dad tradition of posting quotes on my mirror.

This first quote is from conference and I think every mother’s ears perked up as Elder Ballad spoke these words.

“…recognize that the joy of motherhood comes in moments. There will be hard times and frustrating times. But amid the challenges, there are shinning moments of joy and satisfactions…pray, study, and teach the gospel. Pray deeply about your children and about your role as mother. Parents can offer a unique and wonderful kind of prayer that essentially says, “We are steward-parents over Thy children, Father; please help us to raise them as Thou wouldst have them raised.”

The second quote is from Thomas S. Monson. “One cannot forget mother and remember God. One cannot remember mother and forget God. Why? Because these are two sacred persons, God and Mother, partners in creation, in love, in sacrifice, in service, are as one.”

These quotes uplifted me I hope they do the same for you.
