Ayson's Blister Story

Ayson burned his hand on the glass over the fireplace Saturday, Nov 27. this is what it looked like Sunday at lunch time:

Wednesday morning it had the grossest stench!  and it looked horrible.
I got in to the doctor's office late afternoon.  The "doctor" freaked out.  wrapped us up good and said we would have to go to the wound center immediately.

Well I went home and prepared as best I could; made lunches for the next day, packed the movie machine, movies, and books.  I waited the following morning for a phone call telling me what time my appt was.  they called at 8 ish and said because of his age I would have to go straight to the ER.  ugh.  Got off the phone, went a bit crazy, and then three friends called to check in.  how convenient.  Brayland and Amdon were with friends all day while Brilee, Ayson & I went downtown.  We found out at 11 am that Ayson would need to have surgery to clean his smelly hand.  that was scheduled for 4pm.  I found it amazing that Ayson went all day without a nap and food (over 8 hours) and was happy and content the entire day.  and my friends did so much for me that day.  I was deeply touched.

My neighbor has been training in wound care so I left the cleaning and bandaging to him...I almost passed out the next morning trying to clean it out...yuck!  it is healing well and from day two it hasn't bother Ayson in the least.

Oh my!!! Amy, this broke my heart! What a trooper! I just cried! Give the little guy a hug for me. Kevin and I were just having a conversation the other day about how lame fireplaces are that they dont have screens anymore. We hardly even use ours, now Im never going to turn the darn thing on when the kids are up! How lucky are we to have such good caregivers in our lives! Hope all the other little ones are ok and are getting excited for Christmas.Love ya!!!
